Dangote Is A Patriotic Nigerian - Emir Sanusi
The Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, has described the president of the Dangote Group of Companies as a committed Nigerian who has a passion for industrialization in the country.
Speaking during a public function organised by the Dangote Group of Companies in Abuja, Emir Sanusi said Alhaji Aliko Dangote is a driving force for the country's economic reform.
He explained how he changed the narrative in Nigeria by producing petroleum products locally, which has eradicated imports and stabilised the economy.
He hinted that gone are the days when Nigeria exported crude oil and imported refined products, adding that the Dangote refinery has rewritten the history of Nigeria by placing the country's name on world maps.
He pointed out that western powers now import jet fuel from Nigeria, which has enabled the country to earn foreign exchange and taken a step towards reducing unemployment.
He responded to some critics who described Dangote as a monopoly, stating that the industrial sector is open for investors to invest in any area of their choice. Emir Sanusi said people take delight in purchasing houses in America, England and France, purchasing bullet?proof cars, private jets and real estate rather than establishing manufacturing industries. Yes, we still need more refineries to be built in Nigeria, cement factories among others.
He challenged other billionaires in Nigeria to take a cue from Alhaji Dangote and be patriotic to their nation by establishing industries that will reduce poverty in the country.
